Met zijn krachtige, lyrische stijl en zijn zeer persoonlijke geluid is Tom Beek één van de meest succesvolle saxofonisten van zijn generatie. Sinds begin jaren negentig schittert hij in de jazz, op poppodia, op festivals, in de theaters, met studiowerk en als veelgevraagd docent. Als solist maakte Tom furore op grote nationale en internationale podia met Michiel Borstlap, Karin Bloemen en Trijntje Oosterhuis, en deelde hij het podium met grootheden als Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny en Randy Brecker. Sinds 1994 speelt Tom vrijwel elk jaar op het North Sea Jazz Festival. Als componist, arrangeur, producer en bandleider bracht hij de cd's White & Blue (2005), Live Under the Sun (2007) en Big Time (2009) uit en leidt hij zijn eigen Tom Beek Quintet, waarmee hij regelmatig door het land toert, en het nieuwe nonet 'Big Time'. Tom speelt onder meer in The Pitch Pine Project, aan de zijde van multitalent Kasper van Kooten en is gastsolist in een groot aantal groepen. Hij speelde met een buitengewoon groot aantal artiesten, blaast mee op meer dan honderd cd's en begeleidde talloze radio-, tv-, studio- en theaterproducties.

Wolf Martini is a soulful guitarplayer, melting Jazz, Blues, Soul and Latin into his own personal groove. He is a 1996 graduate of the Hilversum Conservatory. He toured in Dutch theatres with “3x Vocal” (jazz), Mathilde Santing (pop/rock) and “Big, Black & Beautiful” (soul/r&b). With jazz-singer Denise Jannah, he played concerts in Indonesia, Azerbaijan, South Africa and Holland (at the famous North Sea Jazzfestival, the Hague). Teaming up with singer Hartog Eysman, he was the support act for Ravi Coltrane and Tuck & Patti several times. The Hartog & Martini duo performed on radio and TV, for example at VPRO program “Reiziger in muziek” hosted by the late Han Reiziger. Wolf has performed with well-known Dutch musicians Edsilia Rombley, Rita Reys, Deborah Carter, Cyril Directie, Johnny Engels, Danny Sahupala, Mark Stoop, Sven Happel, Glenn Gaddum jr/sr, Roger Happel, Benjamin Herman, RoQHarrel, Michelle David, Ferial Karamat Ali, Eddie C., Ronald Snijders (his Extendend Funk Band) and many very respected collegues… the list would be too long. Playing both intimate, “unplugged” duo concerts as well as jamming with DJs at big, funky dance events in places like Amsterdams’ famous music-temples Paradiso and Panama, Wolf feels at home on every stage.

In 1999 Haye Jellema went to Amsterdam to study jazzdrums and ‘docent muziek’ at the conservatory. He took lessons with Martijn Vink, Marcel Serierse, Lucas van Merwijk and Gerhard Jeltes, and made the jazz-repertoire his own. Besides playing drums, Haye’s interest for worldmusic was developed here, and he took courses in Latin- and Brazillian percussion (Bart Fermie), African percussion (Aly N’Diaye Rose, Ponda O’Brian) and tabla (Niti Ranjan Biswas). In 2005 Haye graduated as a Master in Music. As a drummer Haye has been playing with lots of great musicians in very different styles. He’s known as a bigband and smallgroup player, but does a lot of studio and pop work as well. And besides that, he is teaching at the Conservatory of Amsterdam technique to jazzdrummers, eversince he graduated there. Haye is a steady member in different groups, like Mathilde Santing (pop), 3 bigbands, the Tim Langedijk Trio (jazz) and AbSurdo (Brazillian). And he’s hired a lot by known orchestra’s like the Jazzorchestra of the Concertgebouw and the NDR-bigband (Hamburg, Germany).
